Food was really good. Service needs a bit of work.

1-star reviews from the last week or so are not even diners- disregard these bitter humans please. As an actual local resident who dines here frequently, I feel obligated to post an accurate and truthful review. Every time I have eaten here, whether I dined-in or picked up, the food was fresh and as-ordered. The meat never tastes frozen- a big plus for me- and the portion sizes are very appropriate for the price. The staff has always been friendly and attentive as well.It's a great Long Island diner and a must-try if you're a resident or visiting the area.

I had an arugula salad with shrimp. It was bursting with flavor. I gave it four (4) stars because the shrimp were not cleaned.

I’ve been to this diner before and this was the last time. They soaked my waffle in pickle juice. At first I was confused because it tasted like some sort of vegetable, until I bit in a squishy part and it was all pickle juice. My boyfriends meal was perfectly fine (since I had half of his after the fact). I just don’t understand why they did that. And I should’ve known when the waitress would stop and stare as I ate it. It’s like they went out of their way to be horrible.

Come hungry. Salads are huge and delicious. I usually only eat half and take the rest home.

We sat immediately. The atmosphere is modern.The staff was pleasant. The food was average. However, the prices are high.I do not like restaurant prices in a diner it defeats the purpose....

They have lost their taste food is not the it when to just too plane

I ate here twice and the food was even better the 2nd time around. Chicken and Shrimp Parmesan, appetizers 2 crab cakes and the stuffed mushroom top, 2 salads and 2 soups -lobster bisque. The food was take out I live in Queens surprise the husband and it was amazingly wonderful. Cant wait to eat here again.

Great diner in East Meadow. Food is consistently good and service is consistently great.People coming on here with their negative reviews have no lives.

Been our go to diner since we moved to the area in 2004, food has gone downhill. My wife always likes going to the diner as opposed to fast food so she can have her favorites and I can still get a burger, however diners are known for their burger platters I usually get a twin cheeseburger deluxe and then I have a leftover burger with some fries maybe for lunch a day or so later, but the last couple of times the burger has been completely lacking any flavor and the fries have been this generic version; I'm sure the people who frequent places with fries will know exactly what I'm speaking of, have a terrible texture and are lacking good potato flavor! Listen if you can't get a diner mainstay such as a cheeseburger platter correct it may be time for you to pack it in! Will be looking elsewhere from now on!!!

Fast, friendly service. Was very sweet to our young son. Prices on par with other diners. Food fresh & hot. Really enjoyed the experience!

My food was under cooked, I got food poisoning and was best friends with the toilet for a week. you’re better off eating food out of your dogs bowl.

Grew up here; this was the after hours spot from my teens. 50 since, my wife's favorite grilled salmon salad still made here. It is an authentic, family-owned and operated Long Island diner; clean, friendly, and professional. Always satisfying.

While the portions are large, I honestly didnt like how my table was ignored almost the entire time. Took 20 min to get someone to take our order and once the food was brought to the table 30 min later, I didnt see the server again until they brought the check 10 min after getting our food. Kind of sad by this as we were hoping the reviews were true and everything was amazing. But when you have poor customer service it doesnt matter how the food is. You just wont want to spend money where you're not wanted. And fyi I still tipped because I'm not a jerk.

This diner is my favorite! I had missed going there last year because our driver didn't want to go to Long Island. This year, we rented a car. The staff is great! The food is exceptional. Like many diners, the menu is large. Portions are big. You'll probably take some home because it would be sinful not to.

Great place for a quick bite. I had a really good bacon cheeseburger with well done fries that was really good. The service was good and we were served promptly.

The food was wExcellent today! I have had 3 visits, 1st was a bomb out. Didn't like food . I gave it another shot 2x and both were good! Typical diner atmosphere and friendly service. Soups very good.....lobster bisque on a Friday. Beef barley and shrimp salad sandwich which both were very tasty

The food and service was great. I've been going there since I was a kid and it's still the same great place.

The menu and service were above our expectations. We absolutely enjoyed the environment of this place. Awesome spot to take my family out for lunch.

Great service.. friendly workers..very clean. A little pricey but the food was excellent. I'm not from the area but would drive 45 minutes for The Roadhouse sandwich. Highly recommend this diner

Friends and neighbors these are trying times for all. My wife works for one of the school systems. We often go on ride arounds to let the kids know that we're still there for them on one of these recent occasions it was a pleasure pleasure to run across a place called the Colonial Diner I believe it's on Route 24 Levittown the food was out of this world the service really great the coffee all my goodness I did not want to leave nothing but great things to say !!

Service was great but what I'm most impressed with is the healthy kids menu - fruit and a vegetable instead of fries!

A group of us stopped for quick light dinner. Out of 6 guests meals consisting of 5 cups of soup, 5 grilled cheese sandwiches and an order of pancakes, two soups were ice cold, one filled cheese was cold and the pancakes were cold. Service was sketchy and the place was not even full. The owner sat at a table not even asking how things were.

Jennifer was waiting our table of 10 golfers. She is an energetic person with an effervescent personality. In other words...a sweetheart 🙂🙂. In these trying times it's nice to see a smiling face and someone who likes what they do

Stop giving 1 star reviews based off of FALSE information you see online. If you did your research, you would learn that this place has no affiliation with anything negative happening in Merrick right now. Stop ruining businesses over assumptions.

Started visiting this place recently.. and I think it will be my new choice of diner from now on. I would rather make the 15-20 minute drive to have great food, large portions, and EXCELLENT service. Not only is the place itself nice but the staff are very pleasant and accommodating.

Great service, large portions. Right near Eisenhower Park. I see a lot of 1 star reviews and after eating here, I call BS on them. We were greeted kindly as we came in and the waitress passed our table a few times asking if everything was OK. This was our first time here as we went to Eisenhower park and gave it a try. No regrets.

It was awful I found a rat on the floor when I came in to pick up food and there were roaches on the floor and I even found one on the counter and they didn’t even try to kill it they let it stay there. They were being unprofessional, and the food would be cold and hard.

Friendly staff and great homemade food. The portions are more than reasonable. I ordered breakfast (1 meal which consisted of over medium eggs, corned beef hash, home made fries, and coffee). I was there with family. The atmosphere is relaxing and services were great. Food was tasty and coffee was smooth and great. Would definately recommend.

Phenomenal service in a very clean and nicely decorated diner. The waitresses were polite, courteous and thoughtful. Very rare in the service business today. Then the food was awesome!!! I would definitely recommend this diner.

Terrible experience. I only rated it 2 stars so ppl would read this post. I went there this past February and felt that everything was horrible. From the food to service. I would recommend going to a different diner. This place deserves to be torn down

This is probably the best diner on Long Island. I've been going here for years. The food is great, the place is always clean, and the staff is amazing. Most of the staff has worked here for years as well. Whether you are looking for a quick bite but good quality food or a late night fourth meal after a night of bar hopping or clubbing this is the place to go!

We found this place on Google maps on our way from the East End to NYC. Unfortunately stopped. My boyfriend couldn't finish his plate of scrambled eggs, they were undercooked, as was my omelet. When we said something to the waitstaff, they were very rude. Did not offer to remake even though undercooked eggs can cause salmonella. We asked for a manager, they came over and were rude too. Worst diner on the island. We left exact change on the table and although we continue to pass it on a regular basis when we go back to see our families, if Google suggested it again, I'd continue on to the next diner. I probably wouldn't have written this review here but I left a poor one on Facebook and the owner came out on her personal account to continue to give me a hard time because my primary residence is now in Washington. All we wanted was some decent fully cooked breakfast with decent service- didn't get it here.

Love the cream of turkey soup. Also the coffee is as good as I make it at home. Trust me, that is very high praise.

One of the best diners on the Island, food is excellent for a diner, one thing though, last time I was there waiter seemed to refuse to take our finished plates off the table, I fixed that by tipping accordingly.

Breakfast food and waiter was basically fine except for a few minor details... the one star is for ther price. Over $50 check for two people is just rediculas. Plus add tip for a $59 grand total BREAKFAST FOR TWO! just can't be

Order completely wrong. Called up and front desk and they told me i was wrong. this is SPICY Chicken with buffalo wing sauce apparently.... unprofessional, whole wrap is just covered in dressing and tomatoes.

Busy place, great wait staff, seated right away. Prompt service, hot food. Delicious. Plenty of parking behind the diner . Great location easy to see from the street

This diner has always been one of my favorite places to eat. Today I was so unbelievably disappointed. My go to breakfast is always the “Monte Cristo”. I asked for not to much Turkey. When my meal arrived, it was such a small portion. There was 2 hard slices of Swiss not melted. 1 slice of ham. And 10 slices of turkey. I worked here a few years back and always speak highly of this place. Today, the only thing that was good was the $10 mimosa. It’s gonna be awhile till I come back here.

24 hours service with very good food quality I love their breakfast

Not a fan. Figured how bad could diner food be? Ordered a cubano sandwich and it was nauseating. Basic burger was fine. Think if you stick to basics: eggs, pancakes, salads and basic burgers and fries, you'll be fine. I'd skip anything else.

Uncle fester made back handed remarks about concerning military discounts making fun of us seemingly. Eh whatever. Not sure why I pressured my friend to over tip. I guess I liked uncle fester, maybe management had issues w military before?SEEMS ABOUT RIGHT. So that’s Neither here or there.
